It’s Not a Sprint!

It’s Not a Sprint!

People are always looking for the single magic bullet that will completely change everything. There is no single magic bullet. Progress is about bridging the gap between what we observe and what we can imagine – one careful step at a time.

Temple Grandin

Strength and fitness is not something that can be gained quickly. Like life, it is best undertaken at a slower pace. Why do we have to be in a rush to be better all the time? Is it human nature or is it merely a sign of these crazy times?

If you are a regular reader of this newsletter, you will know that this personal trainer does not believe in “hacks” or quick fixes or whatever else social media, or so-called fitness magazines, promise. So when I saw animal behavioural expert, Temple Grandin, talking about her idea of making progress it certainly chimed with me. There is no single magic bullet that will change everything. We just have to keep making careful steps forward towards where we would like to be.

That opinion would be scoffed at, or worse, across the social media channels. Why? Because it is not a ‘sexy’ message; it doesn’t promise the world quickly. But it is a message, and method, that has been proven time and again to work, won’t get you injured as your body is able to adapt to new stimuli, and will give you a healthier, stronger body.

And yes, sales are currently open for the 10 day ‘Summer Blast!’ that accredited nutritionist, Gemma Westfold, and I will be running at the end of June for the sum of £99. We are definitely not promising to fix everything in ten short days. We are giving people a starting point, information, exercises, advice and live Q&A sessions that will help them navigate the busy summer period, while hopefully providing them with more energy. If you would like to sign up for that programme we would love to have you as a participant. The link to do so is here: https://buy.stripe.com/aEUdRh4WZ4Qh3ug28d

This edition of the newsletter was not to have a sales pitch for the Summer Blast, but the point was that even a ten day programme from two very experienced health and fitness professionals will not fix everything or get you hitting your goals straight away.

There is work to do!

And you have to do it.

Day in and day out.

Repeatedly.

And carry on repeating it.

And despite being British, I am not even sorry about that. 😃

However, I would love to help you achieve your health, fitness and strength goals; help you stay on track while you work towards them; help you celebrate personal bests along the way; help you be the best you can be. In short, I’d love to help. And if you’d like my help please get in touch with me for a chat about how we could work together to have you being fitter, stronger, healthier and leaner.
